Shooters have been asking us for an affordable laser pistol and we listened. Mantis is proud to introduce our all new laser training pistol TitanX. But this isn’t just any laser pistol, we’ve added our MantisX technology to it for a data driven approach to dry fire with app guided feedback.

TitanX is available in various models that closely represent popular firearms used by shooters today. Each TitanX has a resetting trigger with a red point of impact laser, 2 weighted magazines, optic ready with a RMR/Shield RMSc footprint, full access to our MantisX Pistol/Rifle, and laser compatibility not only with our Laser Academy but most laser trainers on the market today. A custom EVA case allows for easy storage and portability so your inert laser training pistol can be ready for practice in no time.
TitanX can be used as soon as it’s picked up, giving shooters an easy way to get in a couple minutes of trigger presses in or it can be connected via Bluetooth to our MantisX Pistol/Rifle for a dry fire practice session. Being able to train anywhere with TitanX makes it the perfect tool to keep your skills sharp and your groups tight.
While TitanX is the only laser pistol that has app guided feedback, our Pistol/Rifle app isn’t the only system TitanX is compatible with. Before we dive into the nitty gritty of how the X gets put in TitanX, let’s take a look at some of the other ways TitanX can be used.

As mentioned above, TitanX works well with our Laser Academy system. No additional set up needed, just use the TitanX laser pistol in place of the laser cartridge in your real gun. The resetting trigger also eliminates the need to rack between each shot for striker fired and single action guns.
TitanX is compatible with most laser based training systems, we do our best to make our products interchangeable with all of your training tools, be aware that some companies design their systems to function with only their proprietary laser. For best results, use with other Mantis training systems which allows for MantisX data to be captured for actionable feedback.
While TitanX can be used in a multitude of ways, one of the defining features is that TitanX is the only laser pistol that can analyze the shooter's technique and give actionable feedback.
A common phrase used with laser pistols is “make dots, not dashes” with the idea being that a crisp dot means there was little to no movement during the trigger press while a dash indicates the laser pistol moved during the trigger press activation of the laser. That’s great, but how do you turn dashes into dots? Here is where the X makes all the difference, a short cut to shooting proficiency.
Many shooters cannot feel the micro movements they are making in the split second they press the trigger, and while looking at point of impact may help deduce trending problems it is hard to pinpoint what exactly is happening for each shot. The X sensor in TitanX is able to capture these micro movements and with the aid of the Pistol/Rifle app displays the muzzle trace of each shot, a score based on any deviations made during the press, and possible causes for the deviation so they can then be corrected. Knowing what direction and the magnitude of the dash, plus the possible cause and solution means those dashes can be turned into dots in no time.
So that is the basis of the sensor, it sees what we cannot and shows what was done and where improvements can be made. TitanX is able to convey this data in multiple ways over multiple skills and has unique drills and feedback, giving shooter insight into their craft.
If you are familiar with our MantisX Shooting Performance System then you may have a good idea of what is in the app, but here is a breakdown of what is available when a TitanX is connected.

Starting from the top, when a TitanX is connected, there are two Elite drill options, the draw to first shot Holster Draw Analysis and the Holster Draw Multi Shot which captures the draw and any follow up shots. These two drills are unique in that they not only show the overall draw time but break the draw down into the 5 separate phases and show a trace of the draw. The multi shot version shows trigger press data for each follow up shot.
Then we have our Dynamic Drills section which focuses on dynamic shooting muzzle path and movements. Dynamic shooting is scored for efficiency across multiple scoring dimensions including transition path, over travel, and on target delay. Shooters can see how efficient their economy of motion is, including a heat map of velocity, and timing of each event in the course of fire. This data is displayed across several easy to read screens, allowing shooters to not only replay the muzzle movement and shot but compare individual metrics across shots. With 16 drills in the dynamic section shooters can practice not only all sorts of gun handling skills but also famous range drills like the Failure To Stop drill and or run your own in the Open Dynamics drill.

Next come the Daily Challenges, these drills stick around for just a day and are focused on a specific skill. If you like one, tap that save button and store up to 5 Daily Challenges to perform at any time.
The Drills header contains our standard drills that all users see across all MantisX and BlackbeardX training systems. These standard drills grade shooters on their trigger control and trigger press technique. Each shot is graded for any deviation to the aimed point during the trigger press and given a possible cause and correction. Shooters can replay the movement of the muzzle for each shot and see trends across the course of fire. Classic shot timer, par timer, open training and benchmark drills are available along with specific reload, cadence, decision drills and more.

Don’t forget that each drill has a settings menu so the drill parameters can be customized and set for the exact drill you need. With TitanX the typical ready positions, repeat, shot count, par time and more can be set as usual, however TitanX unlocks a new setting on applicable drills for a digital magazine capacity. TitanX has two magazines that can be set with a digital round count, once the magazine goes to empty simply reload as usual and the second magazine's digital round count will start. With both the pistol and the app being smart, reloads can now be included in analytic metrics in multiple ways, including a breakdown of time by phase during the reload process.
Last but not least there are skill level based courses that can help shooters not only with a practice plan for each time they open the app but also with advancing gun handling skills over time. Start with the Marksmanship courses to boost your accuracy and then work on the Combat and Concealed courses. For each course completed a patch is awarded, those in the US will also get a free physical patch mailed to them to show off online, on your bag or wherever your shooting laurels lie.
TitanX is a unique laser pistol that allows shooters to train anywhere just the way they want. Just a few minutes a day of dryfire can drastically increase your skill level, so grab your TitanX and start improving today.
