Settings
The buttons you need to set up your session will populate the main screen with large easy-to-select buttons. At the top, you will find a picture of a pistol and a rifle. The red button is the current selection. Below that you are able to select a firearm from your arsenal. There are many common brands and models already listed. However, if you do not find your firearm you are able to add a new firearm if you scroll to the bottom of the available options. You can switch your shooting hand directly below the select firearm section.
Shot detection mode is important to select. The two main modes are live and dry fire. There is a button that will lead you to a list of specialized detection modes to select the mode that most closely matches your firearm setup for the best results.

Blackbeard- If you have a Blackbeard the app will automatically assign to it’s shot detection mode.
The mount direction is important when detecting shots. Please check the image in the box next to forward or backward to make sure your unit matches the correct selection. The mount location is determined by where your rail is on your firearm. Almost always the mount location on a handgun is the bottom. The top, left, and right locations for mounting are typically used on rifles.
Profile
Your profile will be listed in the settings if you choose to create a sign-in. You can edit the picture, name, and description of your account. Additionally, if you would like to make your profile private or public, you can do that here. Any device you sign into will give you access to all of your training data.
Next to your profile is a drop-down menu. You can add an unlimited amount of new users here or use the guest profile. This is typically used when showing or sharing with a family member or a friend the app and you do not want the data to mix with your own in the history tab.
MantisX Profile | MantisX Profile Account |
In addition to the in-app profile, you can log in on the web portal. If you go to MantisX it will give you access to a variety of charts and data across all of your Mantis devices.
Training Schedule
The training schedule was built so that you can adjust your training to your goals and time restrictions. Each day of the week is listed, and the amount of shots per day is up to you. The goal for shots per day can be 20 to 1000 shots.
You can set the app to send you a variety of reminders to train at a time that is convenient to you. You are able to adjust the reminders for different time/day combinations. This can be turned off or on at any time!
Audio Feedback
The audio feedback can be adjusted to your preference. If you select audio you have the option to choose a chime or a shot. There is a target score threshold you can set as the goal. If you get above the score you set, you will get a positive chime. If not you will hear a negative buzzer sound. If you select the shot, it will sound like you hit steel above the goal and just a shot below it.
The speech option is great if you want to hear trigger press feedback. It will call out the score or direction your shot pulled for you. These features are great while you are shooting so that you do not have to look away from your sight picture.
Advanced Settings
The sliding scales at the top determine how long you have before the buzzer goes off in the timed drills.
The trace view autozoom can be toggled on or off so that you can see your trace on your phone screen for the best fit.
If you like to see all of your muzzle movement, bullseye mode is for you. It will show you more detail over a larger window of time, giving extra data to the trace screen. Many precision shooters use this to help analyze their breathing movement before the shot breaks. The blue hold/aiming movement will now be three seconds of time before the shot. The red will also show you one second after your shot.
Army Qualification gives you access to Table V and Table VI army qualification drills.
ISSF focuses on stability and static shooting. It gives you access to the following drills:

Courses
Courses give you the opportunity to run through a unique set of challenges. We have courses set to improve your marksmanship and combat training. There is also Double Action Diligence.
History
Do you like watching your progress as you continue to train? Go to the history tab and you will see all of the data from your sessions. There are several automatic date filters at the top of the screen and you can see the shots per day displayed. It is a great way to check in on the sessions you have completed.
We have several charts to look at. The first that populates is your average scores in each direction during your sessions. The second if you swipe to the right is a pie chart of the top problems you are having. Your larger slices show you what to work on first to become a more accurate shooter. Another swipe to the right and you will see the last 250 shots. And one more swipe will bring you to the shot count. This graph will show you how many shots you have for each score in increments of 5.

If you would like to look into anything further, the filter section is a great place to start. In the filters, you can find sessions separated by the following categories:
